Biography

Clarissa Clarke a graduate from Huddersfield University with a Ba Honors in Fashion and Design with Manufacture, Marketing and Promotion in the year 2011. Clarissa was born in Rochdale, West Yorkshire and currently lives in the City of Bradford. Clarissa’s passion for fashion started in High school where she attended Prince Henry’s Grammar school in Otley between 1997- 2002. Taking Textiles as part of her GCSE her tutor encouraged her to continue with her creative talents in Art and Design and Textiles and take it further.
In 2002, Clarissa then went on to college and continued her creative flare in an advanced Art and Design course, which included textiles. In 2005, Clarissa started a Ba Honors Degree in Fashion and Design with Manufacture and Promotion. During her time on the course, she took 2 years and worked in London in various job roles which included fashion pr and working with freelance designers based around London. In 2010, Clarissa went into her final year at Huddersfield University in which she had to design and make a collection, which reflected her bubbly personality and creative flare.
Her collection was entered into a silks competition based in London in which she was awarded second prize out of 300 students around the UK. Clarissa was awarded £300 worth of silk by a well-known silk supplier in London to use in her collection, she also was given the opportunity to display her work in London on the 29th August 2011 for 1 week. One of her designs from her collection was also entered into a competition held by Escada. She received recognition from Escada for the beauty of the design however did not win. Now Clarissa is working in the design field in Bradford and currently working on getting her display ready for her showing at the end of August.
